I am also toying with the idea of not having a schooling fish. So for the top part, I simply get N. Esques.
Hi Guys,
I am thinking of stocking these fauna in my 45 gallon tank. Let me know if this is an ok bioload.
Tank Details.
45 gallon.
with 156 Watt of lighting.
Running Eheim 2028 thru a teco chiller and a reactor.
Plants: Cyperus Harveyi, Rotala Wallichi, Rotala Rotundifilia, C. Wendittii., Japanese Hairgrass.
Thinking of stocking these fishes.
1 Parotocinclus Jumbo (pitbull pleco)
1 Ottocinclus Sp. (Zebra)
9 Nannobrycon Esques (3 striped pencilfish)
20 Ember Tetras (is this too little? Can I do 30?)
A pair of Taeniacara Candidi.
9 Corydoras (still thinking which to get). If I can get the smaller species like hastatus or pygmaeus, I may get more.
Another side question is, would the normal Corydoras give out a lot of waste? I mean I am asking cause they are still catfishes and my experience with pleco is that they give out a lot of waste!!
So for the experts out there, please let me know if this is ok in terms of bioload for my 45G tank. Thanks!

Do you have algea problem? I am not sure if 1 Oto can do the job.....
Hello,
Actually I went and bought 3 more ottos. So now I have in total 6 algae eaters!
4 otocinclus Sp. (Zebra Oto)
1 Parotocinclus (pitbull pleco)
1 ??? Hahah. Could be Parotocinclus Sp.
Just take note that otos only eat brown algae.
Yah,
That's the only algae I have now
I've got 100+ Cardinal tetra and countless cherry shrimp in my 3ft X 1.5ft X 1.5ft tank currently. I believe I can load up another 50+ more as I had up to 150fishes before. Also depends on your filter and amount of Flora you have.
