ok, You know how most offices have some guy in a cubicle with a small fish bowl containing tetras or goldfish?
    ...

anyway, I'm pondering to make a planted nano tank.

    specs of tank:
    8cm radius, 20cm high cylinder

I'll be only dosing seachem excel and fluorish, no co2 injection.

lighting will be office FL lights, so its going to be weak

besides nanas and java fern, any other plant suggestions?

    I'm hoping cryptocoryne's will work.

You have at least 5 types of Java fern and 3 moss to choose from. You can even try hornwort which will grow slowly in low light. I've tried the ikea vase using only Xmas moss tied to pebbles and baby java fern. Looks great on the desk and there is no maintainence other than toping up water. No fert also.

I wouldn't go for crypt because of their tendency to melt for X reasons...
