KH is actually from the German term Karbonathärte. dKH means Deutsh Karbonathärte (German carbonate hardness). Both are the same thing.
KH measure the alkalinity or acid buffering capacity of the water.
The units of KH or dKH is °dKH (degrees dKH). 1°dKH is approximately 17.8ppm equivilent of CaCO3.
