Platinum Copper Journal....
In 2006(Dec), we got our very 1st few pairs of Copper Gold from Thailand. These pieces have good colourations but lousy finnage....
We managed to spawn them and the following pics are what we have from the 1st spawn...(2007)


Back then, we were only aiming for a good percentage of FULL Masked pieces from our spawns. Took us 1 yr to achieve 85% of the spawn to be all FULL MASKED. Notice the very poor ray spread of the pieces. Our objective back then was only on masking.





Once this high percentage of masking is achieved, we move on to outcross our solid masking line to achieve better finnage. Along the way, of course, the standard of the masking of this line dropped abit. but ultimately, we still got what we wanted ie. improved finnage for this line.


Then with more outcrosses to further bring back BOTH the masking and finnage.....




And we got this after several spawns of inbreeding....

Notice the vast improvement in both finnage and masking....

Finally in 2009....
After nearly 3yrs into doing Platinum Copper....
We finally achieved what we would really call the Platinum Copper!!!
The very light toning, super shiny, no longer dark based copper......
From this latest batch of Platinum Copper, they did us proud by clinching 2nd place in Aquarama 2009, Category and Grand Champion at Colourful World of Betta Splendeus 2009!!!

Achieving the Grand Champion with our very own Platinum Copper is by far the GREATEST achievement over at BroBettaSG.
Now, we would hope we can have similar success with our upcoming HMs and CTs....
Yes, we will be moving over to HMs, CTs, Giants...
For bros that have got my latest batch of Platinum Coppers(you know who you are!! hehe) Carry on this MAGNIFICENT line!!
We have done all the hard work....you just need to maintain it!!
