[News] Lion spotted at Sim Ming Avenue!!

I just received this email this morning!

Workers at Sim Ming Ave car workshops were having a normal day at work, when a nervous looking LION suddenly came out of no where...seemingly hungry because of how skinny his body looks.

Everyone freaked out, jumping over each other, some locking themselves up in cars, some in the offices, and some just ran away...but one brave guy (probably a die hard stomper) took the picture of this Lion without making a sound....and there was the huge SHOCK when the Lion turned around...

Turns out that one co-worker had shaved his dog in such a way to look
like a Lion....

A lion wannabe... To be continued...

Infact this grooming style has being in the pets grooming industry for quite long time ago, it used to groom schnauzer dogs. Another dog, name Chow Chow does look like a lion, the chinese call it Lion dog (鬆獅犬), in China where it originated from, btw they are the only dog that has purple tongue.

blue33, I don't quite agree with you on the grooming style. But infact the Chinese Crested has that kind of fur structure naturally, sparsely furred upper body and a hairless butt

Miniature Schnauzer or any Schnauzers are not groomed that way neither, the lower body's fur is trim shorter that the upper and the upper body does not have flurry fur, but no way it will look like that even for a split second :P

I was once crazy about dogs and my family started breeding pedigree Maltese and Chihuahua since I was young, I have taken part in some dog shows about 15 years ago but hasn't kept a dog since. One of my childhood ambition was becoming a dog handler and a groomer.. haha

Chow chow gets its name from the large facial fur that resemble a lion, but that is all, it doesn't like abit like a lion :P

dog loses hair for many reasons, old age, skin disease are the common reasons and yes, some do lose hair just like what you see from the photo above. My GF's Chihuahua doesn't have hair on its back as well, but definitely not the same :P

Well Simon, i was as crazy on dogs like you before, and that was many years ago. And at that time the local groomer wasnt good in grooming schnauzer dog yet. So i had to groom my schnauzer myself as we getting more serious on the dogs. At that time the Lion style was there already, we groom on the schnauzer dog to prevent schnauzer bump on special occasion, especially the back, easier for treatment and cooling also, so Lion style was popular on schnauzer. Below is the pic of my schnauzer, you can see the mouth fur has turn brown due to warm Spore weather and sweating, so sometimes we'll groom to Lion style for them(currently pic is not Lion style).

great idea! if i get a dog next time, maybe i can consider grooming it to be a lion too. will definately scared the !#$% out of my neighbours..hee

this didn't happened at Sin Ming. a fake email taking the pictures from overseas. can't believe local newspaper even reported it without verifying the source!
