    Hi Bro,

Congrat on your fries they are cute and beautiful. I have also a similar pair which has three batches of fries.

    1st batch survival - 5 pcs

    2nd Batch survival - 30+ pcs

    3rd Batch survival - 150+ pcs

The parents are really good at guarding and protecting their fries, but they get very paranoid whenever people walking pass the tank.

What are you feeding the fries after they free swim?

    Cheers

    William

    Re: Pterophyllum scalare

hey william... congrats to you also..

after free swimming they get about 5 days of live, newly hatched brine shrimp.. then after that, they get the decapsulated bbs.. which they continue on for another 4 -6 wks.. i have started them on some dry food.. tetra bits but they still prefer the decap bbs.. i dont know how they can still pick out the super tiny eggs.. just got some other dry food.. NLS.. new life spectrum.. so gonna try that out..

also, they adults are so very fierce/protective... karate chop if the fish from the next tank even take a look...

    Re: Pterophyllum scalare

Very well-formed juvenile, congratulations bro! Always good to see a successful batch coming through.

I just came back from holiday in Sweden and visited the LFS there. One piece of chapalang P.Scalare, not very nice even, cost 65 Swedish kroners, which is about $13 here. Yes, something that we won't pay $1 for is 13 times the price in Sweden.

Imagine if you can find a way to export your batch there...
