    Kennedy,

Emersed aquatic plants must have moisture. You must grow it in a inverted coke bottle that would help retain the moisture.

On another notes though, my h.difformis and dwarf saggs are doing okay after I tried to grow them emersed with a glass container with cellophane paper on top retain moisture within...importantly...the soil must be rich and damp....[]

tenullus should be pretty simply, i think got a few threads on this topic as well.

anyway, like what teo's said, just plant them in. After a few days when u notice rotting/melting/browing, just cut the leaves away. The submerse leaves should grow in no time.

Not so sure about the above, i cut them before i plant. Grows just as well.

I usually plant them, let them settle down for 3 days, ie: for roots to develop(?), and then cut away the emersed leaves. Then, you play the waiting game.

talking about the roots, i trim the roots as well before planting.

Trimming of roots 'encourages' the plant to develop new roots, survival instinct i guess. And by cutting leaves and stems, the plant will mutate (mentioned in a book i read) in the form of branching out and putting out new shoots, as it is sort of damaged at the cutting point.

you can cut off the leaves leaving the stalk behind. and be patient, it takes time to grow into submerged form. depends on your tank factors like light, etc, etc.

I agree... cut off the emerse leaves leaving the stem... this pushes them to let out the submersed leaves... Last time I did tenellus, teo cut the leaves for me even before packing... it was about a week and I started see submersed leaves.

i feel, leaving them to grow for a few days before cutting off the emersed leave does increase the success rate
