went to suntec earlier...they only have "world smallest crayfish"...i can hardly spot them in the tank...haha...not exactly the kind im looking for...

thanks for the info, ive actually went there yest. they really have quite a lot...think probably about 2 dozens or so...in different colours...

was quite crowded so dint stick around too long...juz starting to get my tank cycled so wont be long now...

Price have drop tremendously over the past year.
I saw some at Yishun 618 and Tiong Bharu last weekend.
They were selling like $10 each. But when ask about the sex, none of the owner can tell.
So if you want to breed, perhaps you can buy more since price is so cheap now.

Hi Ariel, the ones i saw at c328 are not dwarfs...they are quite huge actually...but the ones i saw at suntec are dwarfs...and very ex!

Hey fishoman, yup im thinking of breeding them eventually, i just got 2 from Choo, but the sole female is like big mama...twice the males' size, don't think suitable for breeding yet...may be getting more though...shall see how...

Does anyone know what are the species of the most common crayfishes sold in shops? Those blue ones.

Probably Procambarus clarkii, the blue morph in particular. It comes in white, blue and orange forms, other than the standard red.

I saw some mini-lobsters/crayfish at C328. Some with stripes on the back. I think Cambarellus patzcuarensis Orange aka CPO.

There are other crayfishes appearing in blue, like the Blue Marron or Procambarus Alleni. I have experienced for myself that the clarkii morph of blue might not stay and might go according to it's diet and change it's color accordingly.
