Time to rescape my 2ft tank. Below is my simple sketch.

It is about a cut tree. Even though it has been cut, new braches and leaves are still growing from it. It show the power of nature.

It consist of 9 different plants, I have not decided which stem plant to use. Curently on the process of gathering material. It may not even materialize if I cannot get the right wood, which is the main focus point.

Do feel free to give a critics, especially during this early stage

Good try, all the best. I also already had a new scape in mind.

good luck in your search and hope to see your setup soon.

1 thing i hate most is that it is very difficult to get the hardscape we need here and most of the time have to abort the idea

Get it as soon as you see something good! It's hard enough finding the right shape and texture but also the size to fit your tank!

Nice sketch! I wish I could sketch like that, heh.
Here is a picture that I thought comes pretty close to what you have in mind, I hope it gives a little inspiration and helps.

seen that, they are trying to imitate the IAPLC rank #3

What I have in mind is different, it a cut tree, so it short with java fern grow on top of it. I might be able to follow the foreground though . The hardest part I find is to emitate root formation

Yeah agree! It's difficult as you need to combine all 3 elements (wood, rock and soil) to be able to pull through convincingly. Try those 'cheap' bogwood with slim twisting branches, you can tear off the individual branches and slot them between your soil/rock formation. Plenty of rocks in different sizes too, something I have yet to explore and master.

All the best to your new concept... perhaps your new scape can be the ambassador tank for Earth Hour... in promoting hope for humankind

Agree with you, it hard to get woods and rocks here. At least he have no problem finding plants, fauna and equipment, not like some other country.

I think you can get good references from IAPLC rank #4, #14, #24 and #27.

Good luck! Can't wait to see!

Looking good. There are mass, hollow-ness, and drifting of wood branches.
