whao 3 ft is a lot much bigger than my current setup. i think i'll see how it goes, i've only been 3 weeks in this...

update on my tank. This is the 4th week already.
1)added slate on the side of the path to prevent the gravel from mixing with the fine sand path.
    2)malayans and CRS shrimp added
    3)added more horned snails

Love the slates you used to make the path... but would look better if it didn't seem so straight.

What are the slates made out of? Just curious as I noticed that you're rearing CRS in the tank.

yah i agree with u but it;s pretty late to change that now since the HC on both sides are growing ok. i intended to have a slightly curved path in the beginning but when it;s done, it;s just ended up looking straight. haha..

i did a search in wikipedia on slates and there are many kinds with different mineral compositions. i am not sure the type of slate i am using. some do contribute to the GH in the water i think. Yes i tried to keep crs in my tank, but i think i'll just give up and settle for shrimp species that are more hardy. CRS is for rich ppl to play, and it's just too much headache to keep everything in the perimeter that they require. Somemore i am trying to achieve a well planted tanks that need ferts, which CRS dun take too well to. So i have to make the choice and i choose to have a nicer planted tank and some other shrimps which i hoped i can get tomorrow.

now i am left with a lonely CRS. the rest died when they have difficulty molting because of high GH in my water.

well the scape is to portray a sandy path under a tree in a garden. somehow now looks like it's lost in translation. haha. Just cant stop myself from adding things.

update and some pic of my tank, about 3 to 4 months old

just can't help but posting this unrelated picture of my cat. She's obviously bored because i was busy taking pictures of the tank and not paying attention to her.
