    hi guys,

I'm using a 2211 on a 1.5ft tank. Is there any way to improve water circulation in my tank without limiting the inlet/outlet with the use of valves? My rain bar is situation at the back. If i position it to face the front, the whole tank will look like a washing machine. My boraras are swimming like crazy with the current. Currently turned the rainbar so it is directed against the tank wall so that water agitation is minimize and pearling can be seen more obvious. Given that position of rainbar is water circulation sufficient?

    Cheers..

    Have you used power head?

I have an Eheim Spray bar but it took off because it gassed out my CO2 and it splatters when the water is low during water changes.

Thats a good idea pointing it to the wall.

    Re: improving water circulation

Rain bar will distribute the force of water flow evenly over a stretch and the use of lily pipe is a consolidation of water force at one point. It seems like you do not want much water agitation without compromsing flow rate. If this is the case, rain bar outlet facing the wall is the better option.

I cover all the holes in the rainbar, take out the cover at the end of the rainbar.

The lily pipe do not produce a one-point water force but create some sort of vortex that slow down water coming out from it. An open pipe do create a one-point water force.

    Hope this helps!

hmm, i do wan to have minimal co2 loss and good water circulation.. but rainbar facing the front creates a "washing machine" and not too sure whether rainbar against wall provides sufficient circulation.. as BBA appeared..want to eliminate all possible causes for BBA..

or should i place the rainbar along the breadth of my tank.. which allows water to flow a longer distance (length) before reaching the other side..

What is your tank size? It doesn't help if you can't provide the necessary information.
