my i just ask how deep is your tank going to be?
Normally for a paldarium we have small fish like bettas, tetras and at most gold fsih(I have seen one lfs selling a paludarium with gold fish). Discus and White Tree Frog is NOT a very suitable combination.

impossible combination in my opinion if yours is a 3 ft cube. discus are very sensitive fish which need clean and specific water conditions to thrive. whites have voracious appetites and produce large amounts of waste which will foul the water. The ammonia and nitrates will kill your discus within a week. It is possible though if your set up is freakin big with a large volume of water and ultra good filtration system definitely bigger than 8ft and maybe only 2 frogs? just some thoughts

Bad choice, as mentioned by others.
Discus really, IMO, shouldnt have a tank any shallower than 2.5/3ft tall. You would need to dedicate more than this for the land fauna.
Discus do not naturally occur in shallow waters, try finding some fish that do.
Currently keeping many wild betta species and other anabantoids.

If the water is deep enough probably safe. If it's shallow the fish might very well get eaten. These frogs have been documented to eat small snakes when they reach adult size.

    Re: paludarium live stock

yeah Discus are really really sensitive fish... trust me I had a really optimal setup tank for discus and they KOed thanks to the tank being placed at a high movement area in the home... (near the entrace to the kitchen)

Discus IMO are the king of freshwater fish and should never ever be mixed in a vivarium like setting especially with herps... they should be enjoyed for themselves and so should the frogs... The brilliance of the Discus will in fact outshine the frogs by a longshot and they will not survive the mix and ordeal of a shared land/water tank needing really really good water quality and minimal disturbance...

guess bettas are your best bet... they beautiful, hardy and can survive in poor water conditions since they breathe air... and yup ur froggies poop will definitely pollute the water so tetras probably wont survive... feeder fish or longkang fish will indeed thrive being the most hardy...

    Re: paludarium live stock

Discus are VERY sensitive to the water around them.
the frog's poo will most likely send them to heaven in a week or two.

Common feeder fish or longkang fish as suggested above are most likely to survive.

maybe can also try bichir? i got a pair recently (from QH) and they still thrive well even in bad conditions

I have three white's tree frogs to give away. However, I am only willing to give to experienced care giver. Two are brownish, but one has got a very nice green. Almost luminous. Has been with more for like 2 years. So I really need to be assured that they will be taken care of before giving them away.

wow. too bad i have no experience with them.
its easier to find a needle in a haystack than to find these frogs for sale.
