Hi, I want to ask is PMDD just the follwing ingredients?
    1. Fe trace element. Using Iron tablets bought from pharmacy
    2. Potassium Sulfate - where to get this??
    3. Magnesium Sulfate - where to get this??

I remember during the workshop, Vinz did mention Horti fertiliser stick. Is this fertiliser stick good? How frequent should I put if my tank is 3ftx18inchesx18inches. What is the radius of 1 stick in this case?

    Thanks.

Simon told you already, but misspelt... search AQ for Mallick. His webby is http://www.singaporehydroponics.com.
Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.
Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:
A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.

For Horti or Jobes, read this first. They can be found in most places that sell gardening supplies, especially the nurseries.

Magnesium sulphate is easily available from pharmacy. As for the rest of the stuff...check out Dr Mallick at Blk 462, next to Hong Wen School, nearest MRT is Lavender.

PMDD are for hardcore hobbyists who are interested in the science of planted aquarium.

Dupla is for those who do not like the hassle and cannot be bothered what science really goes on in the tank. Just need to follow instructions. The problem is that if there is a problem, you are likely to be clueless in what you have done wrong, since you just need to follow the instructions.

I only use the Horti or Jobe sticks for heavy root feeding plants like most of the big Echinodorous sp. I stick about 1/3 or 1/2 a stick per plant once a month or more. These sword plants always respond by sending out new leaves and sometimes plantlets.

Also I sometimes try to stick a little bit of them among other stem plants if I suspect them to have P deficiency. Fertiliser sticks are higher in P and plants prefer to take in P throught the roots.

Horti tabs/sticks are meant for terrestrial plants. Most of the N source comes from urea. Urea can be poisonous to fishes in high enough concentration. Therefore, try not to use too many of them and do not disturb the substrate after you have inserted them.

Actually if you are thinking of going for PMDD due to cost reasons then I think you can go for Dr Mallick's Aqua-lush. Its rather cheap, $14 for 1L. Enough to last a long long time, and less the hassle. But if you enjoy the DIY effort, then by all means...

The most cost effective fertilizer closest match to TMG is Dr Mallick's LushGroMicro. The major diff is LGM has more Fe than TMG but it does not have potassium as it is a pure trace solution.

For those who stay in the end-South, you may try getting LGM at:

Blue Lagoon. Block 88, Telok Blangah Heights.

The owner told me that he will have stock this weekend.
