It is a normal that tiny bubbles form up.
I just setup my 3ft tank with full ada substrate.
Maybe when you release the water into the tank, it was a bit fast and bubbles forms up within the soil.
Hi Guys ,
Yesterday i just run my ehiem 2211 on my one footer.
I'm using ADA amazona II with ADA powder sand on top.
Filter media using ADA Bio Rio only , after running for a night , i notice there are tiny bubbles forming up from the powder sand and the tiny sand is floating all round the tank.
Anyone experience this ? i have not inject co2 yet.
Regards
Ken

I don't think it is a big issue since you are cycling the tank now.
PS : Please refrain from using sms lingo.

how long do i need to cycle the tank ? currently i added some java moss in the tank to absorb the nutrients. just did a 90% WC
I cycled my tank for around 2 weeks before I start planting.

did you add any fishes or shrimps during the cycling period ?
ANy WC ?
No fishes.
And please refrain from short form and sms lingo.
What is WC?
I presume it is water change.
I do a 30 percent water change.

dont worry bro. its harmless.
722 is a dream come true.
Terence,
Powder sand and power sand is different. Haha...
Power sand is the one we put at the bottom. Powder sand is the cosmetic sand that is the finer version ada aqua soil =)

Woh, it takes atleast 4-6 weeks to cycle a tank properly and you should only add non-sensitive fish once the ammonia goes from 6ppm to 0 in less then 24 hours. It can take 2 weeks if your using mature filter media already and seeding new media or can be ready to go immediately if you use mature media and clone the tank (replace all media in the filter with known mature media and check by adding ammonia then testing time to process it).
When I am doing a cycle I rarely do a water change, as it removes the ammonia and nitrate and nitrite levels if present taking a step back in the cycle, not forward as the levels need to become re-established for the bacteria to continue to colonise.
The bubbles are probably the surface fertiliser starting to decompose and release the chemicals within it into the water column.
so i need to run the tank without water change for at least 2 weeks before any water change ? now it seems that the bubbles have subsided.
is there any way to speed up the process ?
some people use charcoal in the canister , what is the use to placing charcoal during the cycling stage ?

Patience is the key for a successful planted tank.
You can actually start planting without putting the fishes in.
