[Random Rant] Ember Tetras hiding!

Recently my Ember Tetras have started hiding.

I've done a water change, stopped dosing fertilisers, re-arranged the layout, but they're still hiding!

And they've been in there for over a year! They used to come out in the open!

Sometimes I wonder if there's a link between school size and daring-ness of the fish. Because I've noticed a couple of ember tetras have gone missing, probably due to old age or something.

Hm...should I try buying more ember tetras to see if that's true?

my 14 ember tetras do not go into hiding though.. but they are skittish.. kept them for about 1 month already.
