Ok, very new to this.. try again
Working now.
Looks nice. Why is there a gap in the wall inthe second pic?

Well there are some bba actually.. Ya, been a few months already. Initially it was a bba wall showing only skeleton of moss with those shrimps around. Until I add cold water daily! . I had my 2nd wall on the left side of tank done up lately. Will try to post again[:]

Turaco,
What's your tank temp before you started the cold water routine? I've just started a moss wall in my arowana tank.
It's been growing slowly but 3 days ago I turned one of the filter outlet to blow across the wall and also started dosing Mg to address a suspected deficiency. Last night, I observed obvious light green growing tips never seen previously and pearling.

Mind if you share your tank temperature and other parameters with us? I am trying to grow xmas moss too. My tank's temp hovers 26 to 28 degrees. So far, been seeing light green tips on the moss all around. I think potassium plays a part. I need to check on the temperature though... []

Vinz,
Hehe, u've spotted the gap! The moss wall is actually cover only 2/3 of my tank. There is a piece of drift wood at the center with moss too, After trimming, I shifted the moss wall to the left, the 'gap' was where the previous drift wood location is[]. Before 'cold water' treatment, temp is around 28. Now 26-27.
Jason,
I got the xmas moss from Keong Siong(Bt Ho Swee), long ago. I will see if I can remove some for you
Wynx,
I don't dose any fert other than jobe stick & root monster way back. Just add cold water to top up those from evaporation. Lighting, 4x36W for a 2 1/2 ft tank. CO2 3bps. Lots of shrimps..
Turaco.
This is the same condition as Timebomb in growing mose. He hardly fertilise and he has cold water but he does not have high light.
Hi,
i have did an experiments on these Christmas Moss and found the following:
For these moss to grow well, low temp. is important. Higher the temp the thinner they gets. To have robust looking ones you need temp. of about 28 (constant) at least and lower light intensity. They are not nutrients craze plants. i have some kept in pail only! It takes about 2 months to cover a back area of 2ft tank (assuming other factors are keep in check). I have my first batch dated as far back as 1997 or 98 when they first arrived our shore at a distributor end. I have illegally sent some over to australia and they survives (using ziplock bags and post via snail mail).
IMO, this is the easiers plants to grow (at least in my case)
My 2 cents
