I have bought a couple of Betta and I realize this general rule...

Don't buy those cheap $1-$3 Bettas, they will die on you.

Not as active and the colors aren't nice.

Those in the $10+ range are good, the are still alive till now.

Now... I want to buy another new Betta, I was wondering if you know of any reputable shops in the East (ie. Bedok, Tampines, Pasir Ris, Loyang...) that sells good, healthy, nice looking Betta at a reasonable price?

And no fry loss after 1st week to date..
but.. let me know if u find a place that sells at reasonable prices.. i still cannot bear to part with more than 20 bucks for a betta.. unless it really is extremely rare
I must quantify that I made a general statement. From what I know $1 or $2 Bettas are transported in bulk and quite clumsily. More expensive Bettas are transported in individual bags and with more care.

So the chances of the more expensive Bettas staying alive is higher. But then, that's from experience.

There are actually more than 2 LFS opposite Temasek Poly.

Go to the 2 that are at the same row. One of them is Golden Classic, can't remember the name of the other shop. Both have pretty decent speciments, think are descendants of some competition winning parentage.

Have you ever visited Pasir Ris fish farm 1?
There's a farm there called Yun Feng aquarium, not to be confused with the LFS also opposite Temasek Poly by the same name, the 2 are related but it is the one in Pasir Ris farmway 1 which you should visit if you're a betta fan, wall to wall filled with what you're looking for.

Finally, visit Roxy Square. Kelson's betta.

Is it the one with a seamstress at the back of the shop?

Or is it the one that also sells 'BIG' fishes?
