i got mine at Wu Hu Shui Zu (Tiong Bahru Ben, TB Ben, Ben’s) Seng Poh Road. $36.There's another one with a different design, maybe more flexible which is quiet also. saw at NA, i think $40. The latter one, EvolutionZ just sold his. you can check his sales thread on how it looks.
i had the same issue with the dymax one, it works well, just too noisy.. Imagine trying to sleep with that buzzing sound in the room. So i ditched that and go for the silent fan.

Bro, you may want to check out Sim Lim Tower. There is 1 shop at 2 or 3 floor selling cooling fan for electrical equipment. They have size similiar to those 8" ones sold by LFS. You can get them and than get a mounting from NA.

Bro
Yeap I got mine a 10" fan for $8 at sim lim tower about 4 years ago and ask one of my friend to connect with a cable and it works fine till date. it can maintain water temperature approx. between 26 to 27 degree C.
Noise level is exceptable as mine was kept in my living room. At night sleep in aircon room hence no problem at all.

Thanks guys, I bought the Mr. Aqua Tornado.. it is indeed super silent! But it was too big for my nano, so I'm using it on my 3fter instead.
However, I'm pretty sure it's not as powerful as my old AC fan, but I'll just leave it as it is, I can't believe how long I lived with the noise of the old fan!
Oh I bought another Japanese brand for my nano, much more compact.![]()

with the spinning going on plus want more power, difficult to be silent.

I replaced the Dymax fan with a brushless one from Sim Lim Tower, so it uses the same clamp (which I think works perfectly) but with a better fan. It's now <1/3 the noise, and about the same power.
The Gex one was really quiet, but there was hardly any wind coming out from it..![]()

Excellent...
But there are models like that, just that the cons are they have shorter lifespan or too costly.
But your the 1st who knows the sad truth...
I went to Betta House @ UBI today and saw one OEM that was like a hifi cooler. But lower DBI then my hifi fan, cheap somemore.

Hm... I don't know the name of it.. it's on the 3rd floor, right infront after you get off the escalator.
I bought the Delta brand one, but it's not a perfect fit. It's thicker so I had to leave out the back cover on the Dymax casing. I screwed on the fan to make sure it doesn't drop out.
Should cost $8+

Sim Lim Square, you can Try UVnium, back alleys on the 3rd floor.
If you bring along a 12v adapter with you, you can ask him to connect the fan for you too.
actually such fan like those used in PC is quite common available. i bought mine from a hardware shop in ubi ave 2 blk 302 as it is nearer and no need to travel down to sim lim where parking is difficult and not cheap too.![]()

Bought the one sold at Colourful Aquarium, medium sized. Not too sure about the brand, not only is the clip on function good, the fan is very very silent too. Never looked back since.
