there are shrimps actually, feeders shrimps for the raythere is a motoro ray in it that is why the foreground is so empty. i guess i will just remove those two things that u mentioned
thanks!!
I hope you will take my comments constructively. (Not that I have great scapes... I just spout the theory.) :-)
There are too much leaves that are similar size and shape, hence the plants do not stand out. For example the Java fern Windelov and the stem plant behind it are very similar in leaf shape. You should try to create contrast by differing the leaf size, shape and colour (shades of green mainly, but some plants have shades of reds, browns and yellows).
Second, the layout is too symmetrical. Some how the human mind does not like that. You need to shift the gap in the middle to one side by about a third of the tank. It's the golden ratio theory. It applies to eign in general... try reading up on that, both in general and with respect to tank layout.
Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.
Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.
Change the background picture to black and are you using MH lighting, notice the shadow of the lighting on the water surface.
Check this site for inspiration: http://www.cau-aqua.net/index.php?op...zoom&Itemid=29
I got mine from there and made the change with it. With a motoro ray inside, you need to look at segmenting your scape. IMHO, you could use finer sand for you ray, they like to hide under the sand and seperate the soil for the plants by putting the plants in pots.
mine is a PL lighting. the inbetween line that divide the light is a glass piece. hmm.... and i dun really understand what you mean by the shadow of the lighting on water surface. for the uproot problem the ray is quite tame which also surprised me. it just stay around places where i gave it and he is covering itself fine with the current bedding. i thought of changing too but it doesnt show sign of discomfort so i will leave it. Background is what im thinking of toothanks for the suggestion!!
If i were you i would add black subtrate or white sand into the forground and plant foreground plants that will carpet the entire front.
If not great improvement from the previous scape i like it better![]()
Cheers,
JJ
Hello,
Not sure if I am seeing correctly but is there any reason why you are not topping up you tank with more water?
IMHO, if you have the depth, use it.

Ben
