How to remove or control hair algae on java moss?

I have two sets of java moss tied onto two drftwood. The one that is about 3 inches from the water surface ( neares to light source too! ) is infested with hair algae. The other set of java moss which is 5 inches below is doing ok. The only difference between these two sets of Java moss is that the one above was from the emersed form and the 2nd java moss was cuttings from an existing fluorishing tank.

What has gone wrong here? The algae eaters are not harvesting on them. Does Siamese algae eaters feed on hair algae? I tried to remove with my tweezers but it's just too hard. Any suggestions?

this is a common problem with java moss growing too close to the water surface especially near light source. Dont you have yamatoes in your tank.....dont think SAEs will touch those, or either you are overfeeding your tank and you SAEs are getting free meals

Just hope that the emersed form of java moss will aclimatise into submerged ones soon. Have seen new green shots coming. Hope the hair algae will dissapper within a few weeks. If I can get a digicamera somewhere I can document the changes that is going through and post it here for appreciation and knowledge.
