    i was wondering if anyone uses water from those tap filtration system. for example http://www.hyfluxconsumer.com/product/view/2

    Will the water coming out from this filtration be better for the aquarium?

    are you having problems with "unfiltered" tap water?
    if not, why fix something that isn't broken?

    This product only removes impurities, i think what you are looking for is an RO unit.

    RO unit basically removes ions, eg, calcium etc to attain a lower GH.

    yah i heard about the RO unit but also heard it's expensive, that's why thinking of other alternatives which is cheaper. any idea how much does a RO unit cost?

    bro, maybe you can use filter media to help on that?
    i am still new to ph\GN control but think i saw something about that.

    maybe some mod might know of a post\thread that can help on that.

    yup i do know peat moss and resin might work. but not too such about this yet, cos i tried peat moss for a few days, no effect...

    the stuff from Hyflux is not great... i wouldnt buy it to filter tap water for the tank..

    it depends on what you want the filter to do ...

    if it is just removing particles then any block filter with the required micon size will do..

    if removing chemicals... i suggest a good grade(high density) carbon block instead.. don't fall for the common myth about carbon filters..

    if for even more comprehensive purpose then i suggest you google KDF ..

    these are GOOD........
