    Hi all

I got a pack of the following root tabs for my planted tank. I am not sure whether Tetra is telling the truth or not. But this product does not contain and N or P at all.

Anyhow, can share your experience with me? I am just trying one tab for my C.Aponogenton and another amongst my C.Wenditt. So far, nitrate still measures between 0 -12.5ppm

Anyhow, I cut and paste information from Tetra for all to read []

Root fertiliser tablets for lush, healthy aquatic plants.
    · the plants absorb the nutrients through their roots
    · containing iron and all important trace elements in a complex bound form
    · the fertiliser substances are therefore available to the plants for a long time
    · the tablets are adapted to the special requirements of the aquarium substrate, thereby supporting the work of the important substrate organisms
    · free of nitrate and phosphates; therefore no contamination of the water
    · prevents unnecessary growth of algae

Ummm... why would Tetra want to lie? In the worse case, ppl can have an independent lab test their products and then get them in trouble for false advertising/misrepresentation.

NO3 in a tank comes indirectly from fish waste, leftover food, decomposing organics etc. Most aquatic fertilisers contain zero or very little N in any form.

Recommended levels for NO3 and PO4 are 5 to 10ppm and 0.5 to 1ppm respectively.

And one more thing... be careful what/how you write about companies or individuals in the forum. They could come after you and this forum's members, mods and admins for defamation, etc.
Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.
