If the stems are not broken..it should be fine....Even if it is broken, just cut the top off and replant.
after planting my plants without water in the tank, my stemmed plants are bent. i filled the tank up and i can see that some of the plants have straightened, but the others are still bent.
is this something i should worry about?

Cardinal Tetra don't worry... after a few hours or a day you should see that your stem plants will stand up straight... to reach the source of light i guess...

they will remain bent for a while after planting...
if they persist, maybe they are damaged but more likely they are bending towards another light source like sunlight...
