It's the different intensity/density of the "Red" color. Place them side and side and you will know the different

Yes. LFS carried them with Fire Red written on the bag itself. But you have to take the risk and judge yourself as the shrimps in the bag may be just normal cherry shrimps or a "stress" Fire red with fade color. Once stablised...

Quote from another source as follows:
"sukura turned fire red has shallow abdoment, those fire red from TW has very big abdoment and has a very a circle shell if you look from the side".

I seen LFS carrying, supposedly TW fire red, but looking at the abdoment area, it doesn't look like TW FR.

    ---
I've a batch of TW FR and the intensity of red is really awesome. The shrimplets have started showing some red color development at 1 week old.

Re: Taiwan Fire Red and Shrimplets

I'm not sure if it's good to mention price. Anyway, it's authentic TW FR. I've not got the chance to take pix, but it's somewhere like those in the pix TS Bro posted.

A few pieces had mild color run, I believe those pieces were near final stages of pregnancy and e stress could have caused it. I din observe if they have regain e colors.

Re: Taiwan Fire Red and Shrimplets

does that mean a fertile male will never be as red as the female?
if not as red, is it patchy (ie. not solid red colour), or is it more pale?
would love to see a picture of a male taiwan fire red for comparison.
    thanks!

No i didn't say those posted by Jamesneo is not TW FR. Look at his TW FR, it's so red, it's starting to get a little dark (slightly towards blackening). I noticed a couple of such pieces in my tank too.

I was saying, if you look at those at LFS (if any), they may not be real TW FR. I saw some such shrimps in LFS before, but at closer look, it looks suspicious. I can't say where I saw them, it's not right thing to do.

If you look at post #16, 2nd pix, the male FW FR are not fire red, but looks a little like red cherry.

Male cherry shrimps are usually pale in color comparing to females. As Silane mentioned, deep red males are not fertile (too much female homones)
