In my 2x1.5x1.5 tank, I have quite a number of rocks each weighing more than 1 kilo each on 1 side of the tank.
I was wondering if the weight of the rocks will damage my tank.
I am aware that if they fall, they are going to cause some sort of damage. However, I have ensured that they are quite stable.
Shouldn't be a problem as far as the weight on the side, your tank looks pretty thick, is that 10 - 12mm glass?
You should really be concerned about the rocks falling onto the bare bottom though, your critters will find ways to surprise you.
It may seem stable now, but why take the risk, maybe you can use some aquarium epoxy to secure the rocks into a permanent pile?
I think the thinkness is only 5mm for the sides and 6 mm at the bottom. Where can i get aquarium epoxy? Is it some kind of glue for aquarium? I only found silicone sealant in LFS, can those be used?
Keep the rocks away from the glass at least. I used to have an african cichlid aquarium where rocks are often used. After a few months, the glass gave way and flooded my entire house. My tank was about 6mm all around. So just be cautious.
