filter sounds too strong. that's more suitable in a bigger tank I believe![]()
hi guys,
planning to start up zebra pleco soon, now i'm getting all equipments ready and setting up in place.
a few question in mind when setting up, need some tips
where can i get those flat slates and those slate cave?
went to 328 but they only have stones, the cave they have are those black charcoal one.
is a 2217(1000l/h) overkill for a 2ft tank? only planning to get 4-6 juv pleco only. somehow the current looks very strong to me.
need some advicee
thanks
Jerome

sam | Any bucephalandra fans out there? PM me!
i just just did a few readout on some article
both of them have a fine sand for a base instead of a bare bottom tank.
will there be any difference if i use a bare bottom compare to sand base?
beside cleaning
thanks
Jerome
a thin layer of gravel will make the fish feel more secure, but some breeder employ a bare bottom tank and have similar success. so it depends on you.
i personally like to use gravel for my tank.
you can get some clay caves from auntie at C328, just ask her and she will direct you. regarding to slates, you can get from C328, polyart, Y618 or landscape shop, normally near farm areas.
you can use 2217 for a 2 ft as some bros here use 2028 (similar capacity as 2217) for a 2 ft tank as well, it will definitely provide better filtration. this way you can prolong your water change interval, but it also depends in your feeding regime of plecos.

i already managed to order some slate cave from bro here.
thanks
as for those normal slate, i cant find them at all
being to c328 and polyart
where are they usually located? i searching around where they kept the driftwood but only found the rough lava stone
i'm on 2073 (1050l/h) my 2ft and it's just perfect. flow will slow with time so always good to have that extra power...just like an automobile.![]()
hope you can find all your equipments and good luck in your project..
*you can always use a rainbar to dissipate the flow strength

hi jerome, pmed you regarding the caves. interested to get some
cave you can get from C328. It's "hidden", only auntie know where. As for slate, you can try NA but no guarantee as they sold out real fast. Call NA if you want to go down.
