    Hi Friends,

    Hope all is well !

I just noticed that my new tank's (6.5 feet x 3 feet x 1.75 Feet) hood has not been made properly. The Wooden frame lining inside the hood, which sits on the Tank's Glass rim is not completely resting on all 4 tank sides and is instead touching and resting majorly only on the front glass's edge. The Wooden strip is not even touching the back glass.

I'm really worried that the whole weight of the hood (about 50 to 80 Kgs) is directly acting upon the front glass alone, instead of getting evenly distributed around all the 4 tank sides. Can this be fatal and break my tank ?

I'm also very confused because I personally sat with the carpenter when he was re-doing the tank's hood and I made it a point that the wooden frame was well made of teak wood strip and was very straight. I really have no idea on where the fault is and why isnt the frame sitting perfectly on all 4 sides...

Will be a great help and I'll be so grateful to you if you can kindly help me solve this as I'm really worried if my tank will crash because of this...

    Thanks a lot Friends,
    Regards and Care
    Kush

    Photos would be good.

What is the thickness of the glass?
Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.
Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:
A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.

Use a carpeter's level to check on all 4 sides glass on your tank, is your tank sitting leveled?

If you're certain that the tank is leveled and the problem is caused by the hood, I think you can get your carpenter to cut strips of wood and glue them to your hood lining. Most important is to try to distribute the weight to all 4 sides of your tank.
