Think this tint of blue have appeared with other bros before.

One observation is that the colour remains for this particular shrimp after switching tanks. One tank pH 5.8, the other at pH 6.5. Have others from the same parents, and they did show promising bluish tint but the below shrimp's blue far exceeds its siblings especially when they are moved from one tank to the other.

Healthwise, this shrimp been with me for quite awhile, so i am still keeping my fingers crossed.

Hopefully its a female, anyone want to sponsor a good male to mate it?

    Anyway, just sharing it!

    Re: Another Blue Crystal

Dude, thanks for the offer, but if you have alot of panda shrimps, let you have this piece and breed it with your pandas.

Might come out something similar to this? Or maybe snow white or golden with the above piece might come out with something interesting? But doubt it will produce any obvious results, its decendants with the slight blue genes continue to inbreed.

    Or with a snow white?

I am not sure, just guessing! But you can try. Not into such in depth stuff. I like thick white crs currently.

In the market theres black king kong, panda, wine..all the fanciful names.

Here is one of my favourite piece, I shall call it the...

    EVIL TIGERTOOTH SHRIMP
as it seems like it has "black tigertooth" and it looks like a possessed crystal red shrimp with dark thoughts..

The so-called blue crystal is stressed homozygous black diamond shrimp. Generally, if water conditioner is better, it will recover to black. Certain water condition make them look blue instead of black. It is like a comfortable CRS give good red and a stressed CRS give pale red. Having said this, you can alway find some weak red CRS, and thus I am not surprise to see some weak black diamond which appear as blue around.

And for the so-called evil, it is a heterozygous black diamond shrimp, the black is weak and the recessive red is strong and thus appear as tea brown.

    Re: Another Blue Crystal

Agree to a certain extent. This shrimp originates from a Crystal Black Shrimp.

But, the most interesting thing is that there is definitely blue genes in them and this is also evidential through the pictures from waterbox.com.tw. I find that its just a matter of time before Blue Crystal Shrimp(maybe another name) surface on the shrimp market.

    Re: Another Blue Crystal

thats a wild bee shrimp for sure I have them too... some show very nice blue and white bands whilst others more greyish and white bands... hopefully you can create a strain of blue crs from it since all crs are bred from wild bee shrimps...
