    Bad experience with Aquamarin.
    Yesterday i called Aquamarin in the morning for a new chiller. She confirmed that she had one left. Today i confirmed in the morning that i wanted to buy after she re assured me that the chiller was still for sale.
    So i wanted to buy it and have it delivered in West Coast. Although the chiller costs nearly 500 dollars she told me that delivery was only above 600 dollars. I find that very high and she adviced me to buy something else to make it +600 -how clever-.
    I decided to go all by myself and gave a call this evening to ask if it was still available and if the shop still opens until 11pm. He (this time a guy) told me that the chiller was still for sale. So i came by with the taxi all the way from West Coast and came in.
    She pulled the box and how dissapointing it was spoiled and apparently from another client. I was really pissed off. And was asking for the boss. However she told me that he was not available and did not even considering calling to clarify the situation. I told the same story to another sales guy in the shop but even though i was not finish talking, he was keen enough to go and help another client.
    I went back home dissapointed and paid 30 dollars for the taxi. This was the first time and for sure the last time i visited Aquamarin.
    This kind of service is not what i expected in Singapore, arrogant, ignorant and not helpfull. I advise everybody else to choose a LFS who's owner shows more commitment.

    I have had a bad experience myself when I tried to engage them to custom make a fish stand. Gave them the full specifications and talked to their maker but in the end, totally different! I wasted at least 3 trips and over 2 weeks of my precious time and energy. In the end, I was lucky that they refunded me. Not trustworthy and reliable to me.

    They used to be good but after reading your experience, think will avoid them.

    Was it a Filipino lady that served u? I went there and she was chatting on her mobile for quite awhile. Once she stopped chatting, she started yawning all the way. Kinda strange but I was just browsing so didn't really bothered me.

    Bad Bad service is really a turn off when you are going to spend money there. Willing to pay a little more to get better service and ensure the thing are nicely done.

    It was either year 2004/2005 when i spent few thousand dollars on a marine tank set up with them.

    Before payment/promise big live rock to be given
    After payment /came up with very small live rock........
    and worst, last delivery in exchange of bigger live rock,all are so smelly that my dad though not a hobbyist complained how come people send smelly rocks to our house?

    That very same day I went to the shop to ask for a refund of the live rock because I wanted to buy them on my own from other source.

    Instead I was challenged to take back my refund and the owner/ "boss" mentioned......"give back this guy the money for the rock and we need not ever step into his house again."

    I mean before payment I was being promise everything like 1 year warranty and full setup........

    In the end i was like being chased out of the shop and i bought the live rocks and did the setup all by myself.

    So all my bro and sis/ that's my experience of a terrible shop with terrible services with full of empty promise.

    Probably the misunderstanding of the definition 'big live rock'. Question is, 'big' is subjective. I could see how it could become heated and 'downhill' from there.

    Oh my goodness... so bad? some of the LFS are really out of the way and the petrol/taxi fares can be quite costly!

    AQ allows members to post about their experiences (good and bad) with hobby related businesses to provide feedback to the shops as well as reviews for future customers. However, we do not wish to become a complaints channel. Nor do we wish for businesses to be run to the ground by negative feedback without a chance to improve.

    The above posts seem quite representative of the situation. We do not want this thread to de-generate into a witch hunt. I do hope AquaMarin has taken note of the feedback in a positive manner and do something to repair their reputation.
