You don't even know what the white styrofoam is for?

It's for cushioning/supporting the weight of the tank so that it doesn't crack.
Especially if there is little pebbles or sand underneath or the table surface is uneven.

Hey don't feel bad, I have a friend who bought the tank together with the stylofoam, went ahead to set up and scape it....a few weeks later and invited me over, standing proudly over his planted tank with a big grin and...low and behold... what did I see, something white under the thick substrate...

At least you ask to clarify what you don't know, we are all learning new things in aquascaping all the time...

It's the ADA garden mat. A rubber like material that replaces the ugly white styrofoam we placed under our tanks.

How thick is a garden mat for a 90P tank? What about a 120P, the same thickness?

What Mh and PL lights?

MH = Metal Halide
PL = in not mistaken stand for Philips Light (the model was first introduce by Philips). In europe also called CFL = compact fluerecent or comething like that.

if i am not wrong its to distribute the weight of the tank on the stand. if the stand is not completely horizontal one side of the stand will receive more stress than the other side.
