I like it! very wild and natural looking...
My tank humble beginnings, very unimpressive setup that resembles more like a swamp than anything else.
consist of xmas moss, needle leaves and a few strands of e.tenullus
After adding more plants given by my coach/friend. still not very visually pleasing but much better in my opinion.
after a couple weeks of growth, planted some HG as foreground albeit not enough. starting to look slightly better with xmas moss
growing out nicely.

...I'm dain da deep blue
...
this time round as you can see, i've decided to shift the focus to the right side of the tank. seems better to me. also first stage of algae bloom!but easily controlled with the addition of 2 x nerite snaills and a packet of 50 malayans. interesting thing is that all my malayan snails turned red. added 30 pieces of cardinal tetras. notice to the left bottom, i believe it is some local eriocaulon i found while fishing.

i like how your narrow leaf java fern creates 2 nice messy bushes..![]()
It looks ''messy'' with style. Nice setup there![]()

Keeping.
Apistogramma Peixoto, Agassizi 'Rio Tefe Cacadola', Agassizi 'Tefe Bauna', Bitaenita 'Rio Copea', Diplotaenia 'Barcelos', Mendenzi 'Sao Gabriel', Gibbiceps 'OrangeFace' Opal, Hippolytae, Pauciquamis 'Negro' Uauspei Blukteil, uauspei Rokteil, Elizbethae 'Sao Gabriel', Sunrise, Trifiscata 'Rio Pinmental'
plants fully planted in, time for them to grow to fill up the entire tank but alas my tank was infected by anchorwormsand i had to decomm it to catch the cardinals out for treatment. the 2nd photo is the last photo i took of it before its decomm
. Oh well time for another tank!

whao. nice tank! apart from the pesky algae! may i ask how long have you kept this tank for?
thanks, tank was running for 2-3 months. running on low-tech. algae issues was getting better when disaster struck, anchorworm outbreak! so just snap the last photo and decommed the tank
whao how tragic! but how did the worms get in? i hope i don't get worms in my tank as well!!
Is a good tank if anchorworm did not get in. It can be alot more better.
Just being curious. Would it not be better if the return and inlet are not so close together? For circulation's sake?
Cheers
i think the anchorworm got in from the dwarf hairgrass i got from one of the farms. will always remember to wash the plants i get super thoroughly in the future.
yeap i did place them at opposite corners after all my scaping was done. it can be seen in the last pic.
i believe that this tank should look at its best given another 2-3 months of trimming and for all the other plants to grow out.
Keep us updated....thanks.
Hi bro, nice setup, sad to hear about the decom, looking forward to your new scape though, good luck!
Turns out the end is just the beginning! This is the current state of my tank after starting from scratch again.
The bogwood you see here (I call it spider) is made by combining the 2 bogwoods in my first setup. Stones are normal granite stones that I picked up :X
Anyway LS includes:
20 x boraras brigittae
10 x X-ray tetra
1 x 1 dollar sucker fish
1 x nerite snails
2 x starlight pleco
lotsa lotsa malayans + cherries (seem to be breeding rampantly)
here are some pics![]()
