It is call a CO2 drop checker. A lot of LFS is carrying it just that they different in price. Price range from 20 to 70 bucks also have. You can try NA, they do have a range of drop checkers.

You can also measure your KH and your pH and use the manual method to count your ppm. Below is the link to CO2 caculation.

    Hope this helps =).

pH and kH method can be misleading. You might end up measure water pH due to other than CO2.

drop checker does not give u the ppm of co2 in your tank. Just a gauge if there is too much/sufficient/too little co2 using colours, which i think is good enough. i using a dymax drop checker which is about $10, the cheaper that i could find.

just remember to use kH = 4 instead of your tank water.

    Re: how to test ppm?

i think my tank is really too CO2 polluted. happy plant but sad faunas. i moved a cherry red over and at first it seem happy due to the heavily planted and swim around up and down. then less than 5 mins, it start to show sign of straggle and lie flat on a plant. shocked me and i quickly move it back to the previous tank and now it swimming happily again. hmm... maybe i will take some pictures of my whole set up and start a new thread. that may give you guys a better idea. stay tune! cause i need comments and help from you guys
