Just did a rescape of my living room tank over the long weekend last week. The water's still murky as I just reinstalled the filters - they were left to keep the cycle on the spare tanks where I temporarily housed the fish.

The only thing I'm not happy about is the left wood. In this picture, it aligns too much with the large rock. It's not so obvious up close when you're standing in front of the tank, but it looks really bad in this picture.

I'll follow up with more pictures and specs tomorrow.

    Hi Illumnae

Looking good, is it enriched with CO2? Do you intend to increase the plant mass?

    Thanks!

yup the tank is co2 enriched

There are some more fast growing stems behind, Myriophyllum mattogrossense, but they are really short now and can't be seen. I'm hoping the Myriophyllum and blyxa will be sufficient nutrient exporters, since i'm going without water column fertilization, and the lights are only 4x 54w t5ho for 8 hours a day

I like the layout. But in time you may find the rock and wood scape dwarfed by the plants behind. I make the same mistake in many of my scapes... misjudging the size of the rocks or wood required.

Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:
A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.

unsubstantiated urban legend that has been proven false many times

These altums and discus have been cohabiting for over a year now, and the discus have not succumbed to a mystery potent disease carried by angelfish that only affects discus, as the "legend" seems to say Neither there has there been any aggression between the 2, nor have the more greedy angels deprived the discus from food, as "common sense" seems to dictate.

Aside from the above "reasons", any other reasons you have that angels and discus should never be mixed?

Hi, are all the koralias switched on at the same time? Won't the heckels feel that the current is abit strong for them to take? As i can see 2 huge filter intakes so i assume in addition to 3 koralias there's 2 more 2028s?

My 2 cents with regards to the scape. Maybe get rid of the small branch in front of the main rock. The huge branch on the right, can it be laid down? It might then don't steal the focus

Because right now my eye's immediately drawn to the main rock. Might as well make that the focus

Thanks for the suggestions I'll try and play around tomorrow.

As for the flow, nope the flow isn't too strong. The 2028s are both connected to external reactors so their flow is actually rather weak. I've found that with 3 koralias, the flow is just right and the fish aren't being "blown away" by the flow.
