Re: Canister Filter recommendations for 1 feet tank

i see. do you know how much does it cost and if c328 sells it?
am also concern on how strong is the water current coming out from the outlet as i don't wanna create a tsunami for my shrimps.

    please advise.

    Thanks!

i think for both filters, the flow rate will be reduced by alot after hooking up to a chiller.

One thing to note, Eheim filters need to be place UNDER the tank to work.
But Eden 501 can be place at same level of the fish tank itself.

    That's the beauty of it..

Will recommended to get 2213 if you intend to hook it up to a chiller and its larger cannister will allow you to put in more media.

No leh, from the manual of 2211, the motor head needs to be at least 10cm below the water level if i'm not wrong. Anyway i place mine beside my tank and it works perfectly! Looks nice too as I find their in and outlet are positioned at the right point, I like!

I placed mine side by side with my tank and sometimes on the shelfing ( near the hood of my tank) and its working fine also.
Ehiem 2211 will be a good choice. Reliable i would say IMHO.

    wow. that's pretty cool.
by the way, how long does the filter media / substrate last before change is required?

depend on your bio-load. usually about 6 months, just flush the filter will do.

the manual itself don't bluff us right...

actually this is something we all learn in secondary school science. the motor has to be below the water level so that the wter could flow into the cannister by the pressure difference. One have to understand that the motor does not "suck water from the tank"., it is design to pump water into the tank through the outlet.
