keeping apisto for the past 2 weeks has given me alot of heart attacks. 2-3 days before i saw the female stomach swelling up as if gonna burst like that. thought i might have overfeed. hence ignored it. then yesterday i saw the female becoming very defensive towards the male and even attacked the male. i followed the female into its haunt and VOILA! EGGS!![]()

thanks bro here's a photo i managed to snap...hopefully everything goes well

Great picture! This is the first time i see eggs attached to the ketapang leaves! So natural! Keep us updated with the hatching and growth! Remember not to over feed the fries. I find eliz fries more sensitive to indigestion and bloat compared to other species. Also, i'll stay clear of decap brine shrimp eggs. They are more difficult to digest.

any other suggestions regarding food to feed the fries? thought of giving them decap bbs initially. was suggested by a friend to get dennerle S7 as vitamins for the fries as well. probably going shopping tomorrow

Dennerle S7 is subjective. If you have the spare cash why not? I use it to feed my adults. Soak the frozen brine shirmps in it for 10 to 15mins before feeding to my adults.
I would suggest hatching bbs yourself for the first 3mths. There after, try staple food and see how do they react to them. If they take, you are in for a more stress free time.If not, continue with bbs and slowly introduce them to staple food. Some suggestions for staple food would be ADA AP food series and NLS food. I have not tried NLS but its proven to work by some of our guys. I used ADA AP1 gold because they are very powdery, so its perfect for apisto fries. Plus, because its so fine, the uneaten food will not soil the tank so quickly. When they grow larger, i used the larger ADA AP series.
