    30++ tetra
    Describe your problem :
    ----------------------

Algae growing on HC and glass, the algae on my HC is like cotton wool when i took them out. green colour, fine and tin.

I understand that based on my lighting, i need to increase my C02 and number of Liquid fertilisers dosing so my plant can use during daytime lighting. but my DIY C02 is really unstable. therefoure i'm getting a C02 tank from a forumer here tomorrow .

Therefore with the new C02 tank adding to my tank, i need to know what else i need to do in order to get rid of the algae in my tank and provide good needs for my HC and plant.

Do i need to manually remove the algae that grew on my HC ect? or it will goes off when everything is right?

thanks, comment welcome as i'm very new to aquarium. thanks

I remove some part of the algae from my hc and replant them but some HC still have some algae on it.would u suggest me to stay put and see how the C02 help or u suggest me to remove all HC with the algae on it? how about the algae grew from the sand?

    thanks

I got a Question regarding fishes stay near surface for oxygen.
Why is only my guppy staying at surface while the rest tetra and shrimp and oto stay low?
Does that mean the oxygen is low? if so then why tetra and others are ok and swimming around? Picture below with the new C02 diffuser

Re: Need advice and Help with my new tank attacked by algae

I see ok thanks, so i'm not worry my guppy lack of oxygen.

Today i just take a look and i notice there are still algae in my hc as well from the sands. I really wanna remove them one and for all.

1:Ok i was thinking to remove all the HC attacked by algae and plant new HC

2: I manually remove all the algae from the sand But i know no matter how i remove there are still algae on my sand, So can i get come sand or Ada aquasoil II and place them on top of my infected sand after i remove whatever i can remove?

3: 50% water change after the above. water added with prime.

4: Make sure new C02 tank is stable.

    Will the above work? Thanks

I don't think you should use new sand to cover old sand unless old sand is clean and there are no dead stuff on it before you put new sand on top.

I think dont' have to worry about the algae. if oto doing it's job and the condition stabilise, the algae should disappear. Maybe can try to put more plants.

Re: Need advice and Help with my new tank attacked by algae

With the tremendous amount of help from the forum barrreport, aka Tom Barr with his team, i manage to get those Dry fert including Macro and micro dry fert which total cost less than $30 and can last me for about 1 year. And it's much better than any of the fertilizer in the market and the best is, it's so much cheaper. I can use up to a year and providing my tank with NPK and traces ect.

I just done with my water change and dose the 1round of EI. Following the basic of EI, Monday Wednesday and Friday dose macro; Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday dose micro. Sunday enjoy fishes. i believe with the advice i got here in AQ and Tom Barr team, My tank will gets better and HC will spread and grow well.

Once again thanks to everyone who given me advice. THANKS!

you dont have to wash your filter every week, maybe once a month and do it with your tank water. washing everyweek will not give the bcteria enough time to establish themselves in your filter. For a small tank like yours, you need every little help you can get
