Yes, you can.
But bear in mind that it takes a while for co2 to build up to optimal level in your tank. If your tank is large, it would take a long time with co2 injection to reach that level.

Just wondering, why would one wants to pump both CO2 and air at the same time?
co2 in the day when plats are photosynthesizing, and pump at night when the plants are not. maybe just a precautionary measure should the level of O2 in the water drop too low at night.
I know. I know. It depends how much surface agitation you have.
I dont have any problems with my Eheim output flow on the surface. But when I installed the Eheim spray recently BBA starts to grow. --the CO2 begun coming down. So i took it off and crank up the CO2 back. BBA are gone in few weeks.
LAND OF THE FREE.
Well, try CO2 8 hours and air pump the remaining 16 hours to clear off the CO2. Photosynthesis process are suppose to produce Co2, not?![]()
