I have read about crs actively feeding on pellets and stuff but the mosura specialty and excel food I have been feeding so far doesn't seem to excite my crs a bit.

Sure they do have a bite sometimes but it looks like they rather forage on my ada soil or moss instead of on the food. Parameters are fine and they are pretty active, just not showing much interest in my food. Any one else observe this or has an explanation? Thanks in advance.

My CRS were not eating the pellets as well. You just have to starve them for a day and most likely they will eat the pellets after that.

    Re: Crs eating habits

Having read a few brothers' threads on food not exciting the shrimp, I wonder what could really be the reason/s. For my shrimp, they are like glutton. I feed them twice per day except on Saturday (change water and also starvation day), they are always attracted by the food. I feed them bioplus, Shirakura, Excel and also Speciality food and they simply like them.

Are your shrimp doing well? What happen to the food after some while? Did you leave them alone even if they are not consumed?

I tried not feeding them for a few days prior to feeding. Interest in the pellets was minimal. I do have good healthy growth of algae in the tank though. Maybe my shrimps are vegetarians.

ADA Bacter ball is mainly soil and dehydrated bacteria, I wont want to feed my shrimp with $30 soil.

I prefer Bioplus, it has food bits and bacteria, for shrimplets and adult. My shrimps really like then over the speciality food.

    Re: Crs eating habits

Mine wasn't interested initially. I feed them a bit (drop the food where most of them gathers to get their interest).

After a while they will get used to it. Now my shrimps swarm and crawl over one another to get to the food. Now I throw the food in the front part of the tank so that I can enjoy seeing them feed.
