How about you test the soil adding process in spare tank or pail first?

Anyway, what 'soil' do you have? ADA Soil? Sand? Gravel?

The word 'soil' implies fertilized substrate or contains organic materials. It makes a difference to the advice people can give you. Please tell us as accurately as possible what 'soil' you have.
Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.
Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:
A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.

    Vernon,
If you're referring to something like ADA's Amazonia II 'Powder', it's ok to put in I do it all the time. It should be quite clear with minimal clouding. Use a small plastic container to pour. You should wet the soil so it doesn't float about before submerging the container to pour. The slight cloudiness clears in a day or less.

Windcharm/dna9179, If you're fighting algae, you should be dosing potassium no matter what.

With the tremendous amount of help from the forum barrreport, aka Tom Barr with his team, i manage to get those Dry fert including Macro and micro dry fert which total cost less than $30 and can last me for about 1 year. And it's much better than any of the fertilizer in the market and the best is, it's so much cheaper. I can use up to a year and providing my tank with NPK and traces ect.

I just done with my water change and dose the 1round of EI. Following the basic of EI, Monday Wednesday and Friday dose macro; Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday dose micro. Sunday enjoy fishes. i believe with the advice i got here in AQ and Tom Barr team, My tank will gets better and HC will spread and grow well.

Once again thanks to everyone who given me advice. THANKS!
