if you're looking to on the co2 earlier i would suggest getting a second timer..that's what i did...
The role of master and servant begin to cloud in the water..
2 possible reasons why you might want to use a separate timer to control your co2 / lights.
1) your tank is large, you want start co2 earlier and get it to build up to optimal level when lights come on.
2) your tank is heavily stocked, you want the plants to use up the excess co2 before lights go off.
Both cases, a 15 minutes difference would not be sufficient. You should probably be looking at 1-1.5 hours difference in timing.
If your tank is not that big (I would say 3feet or less) and not that heavily stocked... then a single timer would suffice.
Hope this helps.
