How should fresh tap water be conditioned before adding fish, other hab leaving it overnight, especially for guppies? I used aged water and it works well for my tetras, angelfish and rosies.

used aged water, distilled water, spring water, RO water, but for conditioners, things like PRIME work great.

If you find it troublesome to store water, use anti-chlorine. you can get it at 90 cents per bottle, very affordable.

how long should water be stored before it will be chlorine free, without adding anti-chlorine?

Also, I found one of my female guppies dead when I got home today; it was very active the last few days...

If the guppy doesn't move much except for its fins and gills, remaining stationary, what does it mean? Another female seems exceptionally quiet except for the breathing motion of gills and the fluttering of fins.

How can we tell if a guppy is unwell?

Nowadays chloramine is added to the water too. Chloramine is much more stable in water compared to chlorine and even bubbling the water would not remove chloramine, let alone letting the water stand overnight. It would be best to invest in a bottle of anti-chlorine+anti-chloramine.

I have another case of a guppy jumping out of water; was with me for a couple of weeks; anti-chlorined water with ammonia level is 0.5, eating well last night; they're housed in a planted plastic basin...found it dead on the floor this morning

Water is almost to the brim and basin is about 11cm deep.

    What could be wrong?
