Hi there, you didn't do wrong with your purchase. bTw, you need 2Watt per gallon at least in order to justify dosing of fertilizer. Confirm your light and CO2 first..
Hello all, just purchased a set of LGA and LGM and also LG KH2PO4. Now abit confused as to what kind of dosing regime I need to follow. I'm not intending to do EI because in a month's time, I won't be able to keep up with the weekly water changes due to commitments to the nation (Poop).
Anyhow, should I dose as per instruction for the liquid ferts? It doesn't say the frequency of the dosing though.![]()
And also, I'm intending to use KH2PO4 to supplement the lack of phosphates in LGA and LGM. Will that be alright? I'm not worrying about my nitrates because my nitrate level has been maintaining a steady 20-40 ppm. I tend to overfeed my fishes sometimes
Here's my tanks specs:
422 with 4x54W T5HO lights.
Dosing CO2 with drop checker to measure the levels.
WC 40% once every month (sometimes longer because I forget when I last did WC)

I have an Excel calculator for the Lushgro Aqua and Micros at http://www.ntu.edu.sg/home/kfloh/dmdd.xls
Together with recommended ppm of each nutrient in Estimative Index of dosing, you can compute roughly how much to dose to target the weekly nutrient level.
If you overfeed, there could be excess NO3. So dosing Lushgro Aqua would add more NO3. Perhaps use more of Lushgro Micros and PO4 instead.
For PO4 dosing, can check how to compute dosage using Chuck Gadd's calculator.

Light is definitely around 2WPG, underestimating because I only account for total vol of tank without accounting for substrate and wood. But definitely around that number. Drop checker says green which should be around the recommended 30~ ppm give or take 10-20ppm
Yeah, but EI requires a weekly water change, which I won't be able to handle once I enlist. So should I still be aiming for the weekly target or just slightly lower?
Thanks in advance.![]()
Better to try lower dosages first. I am also dosing lesser due to my infrequent water change.

I have used Lushgro Aqua and Micro before. I used only half the dosage and the plant growth is already very noticeable. One bottle of the Micro can last forever.
Dear All,
I read with interest the advice given in this thread on use of Lushgrow products.
I have the following questions I hope you can help :-
Tank size = 660 litre,
Fauna = High load.
I read from somewhere about algae control that says one of the problem with algae is due to high phosphate level ( I cannot measure ) due to fish load.
I also measure my tank water's Nitrate to about 20 ppm ( good concentration ) with weekly 40% water change without any nitrate dosing ( I suppose the fish provided sufficient amount ).
I am able to get cheap source of Potassium Sulphate ( which I will stop using in view of Brother Shadow's comment on its harm to shrimp ), potassium chloride ( which will be used in place of potassium sulphate ), and Epsom salt.
To further reduce the possibility of higher than required phosphate level as a result of high fish load, I intend to implement contineous water change method to dilute the phosphate and nitrate level.
For that, I will contineously pump out some water ( at a rate of about 50% over 24 hrs. ) and I intend to redose back the half the standard recommended weekly dose of nutrient each day so that the concentration is being maintained at optimum level at.
My problem is access to cheap source of other elements.
With the availiability of Lushgrow Aqua and Lushgrow Micro plus Rexolin APN, I suppose I can afford to do this ( contineous water change ) now.
But I am a little confused as to what is in each of the 3 products mentioned above as well as I am unsure what is Macro and Micro nutrient and what is Trace elements?
Based on the following list of neutrient I copy from another thread in this forum, can you help me by grouping these elements to Macro, Micro and Trace elements?
N03: 1106.53
PO4: 214.66
K: 330
Ca: 170
S: 90
Mg: 60
Fe: 20
Mn: 5
B: 0.3
Cu 0.2
Mo: 0.3
Zn: 0.6
I see in the worksheet that Brother Koah Fong provide, Lushgrow Aqua appear to contain many of these elements and Lushgrow Micro and Rexolin APN also contain many similar elements.
I am asking about this because I would like to ensure that I have all the required nuetrient and yet not to duplicate them.
Your advice as to what to buy ( the 3 product mentioned above ) and how to dose it will be most appreciated.
Cheers!
BT Lee

Fret not!
NPK is always Macro nutrients
The rest is Micro nutrents, also known as Trace Element (TE) and Yes, Iron is part of TE.
The biggest offender of algae is......... CO2![]()
