How is it possible, the tank with or without water? For what purpose exactly?

Link to the video? I have no idea how a open bottom fish tank can hold water... except in space?

Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:
A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.

Interesting. I guess algae on glass has to be cleaned with a magnetic scrubber. Major cleaning would be a pain. So would filling up the tank. I wonder how he filled it up?

The only way those bubbles are not causing the water level to drop is if the air pump is mounted in the air pocket at the top of the upper tank.

I'm not sure if I'm correct.
Maybe you can check that aquarium shop near to Kovan MRT. (nearer to the NTUC side)
That shop is into custom made tanks... I think they have something like this too... or at least similar concept.

They have a tank inside another tank, so the tank water in them are separated from each other.

    NOT open bottom tank setup.

    Re: Open Bottom Fish Tank

When we read open bottom, we usually think of bare bottom tanks. This is like what kenkenstomp said, 1 tank on top of the other. Because the top tank's bottom meets the surface of the water below, it gives the impression that it is "bottomless" for the top tank.
