Hi all,

I discovered that my APP is not going that well as compared to the period when I first planted.. the leaves of my APP turn yellow and transparent.. and my leaves are also relative smaller than those I saw from LFS.. can anyone please advice..

1) The APP is spreading, but also melting at the same time..
2) Does APP need strong light?? Actually my tank is quite deep (2 feet tank with 2 feet depth) and having 3*36W PL light.. the light is enough but don't know about the penetration.. is it the cause?
3) Can it be my gravel is too thick for the plant to reach the base fertilizer? Any remedy? Thinking of inserting those fertilizer stick (used for pot plants), is it OK? or any recommend..

p/s : 1 more question.. do you guys encounter this problem when the underneath gravel at the side of the glass turns brownish or greenish (algae?).. how to clean them? or just put some board to cover it.. haha[]

I did put the liquid fertilizer once a week...

Marlin, APP is our jargon.. APP = Ah Pek Plant

i "think" the reason your app is melting away is because its tored nutrients has been used up and is now relying on your tanks conditions to grow... thats what i think lah... how long has it been in your tank and did u change any of your tank conditions since u planted it?

if you check with Ah Pek... he'll recommend putting in about 5 to 10 ml of the green liquid fertilizer that he sells every 2-3 days... really depends on your water conditions and type of fertilizer you using... have to see how the plant react and act accordingly... if you see the leaves of the plant turning yellow then most likely not enuff lah...

As for the green/brown thing under the gravel, I've used a phonecard and pushed it down. It did not clear it but it won't look as awful.

app can be got from GenX auqarium
its located at blk 354 clementi ave 2

opens almost everyday till 8~9

this plant is ex...$5 for a small palm size of it

very light demanding(from the GenX guy) ...and its very true
and its a very slow grower
