Anw I do not have a chiller should I carry on to try it or should I give up the idea. Tank might reach 28 or 30 degrees in afternoon.

You can try, no harm trying.

If I say I grew hc on driftwood partially submerged in a tank 26-32 degrees you believe?

It's out in the walkway, so cannot put fan... If in water, yes provided they get a grip on the lava rock. Most of the time is freshly tied down & not mature enough.

Well, since the HC is already in submerged form, if the next tank has the same parameters (ie. similar pH, nutrients, Co2, lighting etc) then the plants can usually transition very quickly and continue healthy growth.

If the next tank has very different water parameters, like from low PH to high pH or from high tech to low tech (and vice versa), then there may be a longer period of transition and more initial melting expected before it adapts and resumes growing.

hi All,
I think I may have mixed unknowingly Monte Carlos with HC... can anyone advise how to differentiate between the two plants visually? I tried googling and found this but, well I am very layman, would be good if someone explain or point to me where are the tubes and lobes please?

is the corolla tube lobes; Hemianthus has a one-lipped corolla tube
with adaxial lobes absent and a three lobed abaxial lip, while

I usually just look at the size of the leaves, HC leaves are much smaller than MC leaves.

Here is a good visual comparison of their leaf sizes (can see the difference easily as they are shown based on the same size container) at the Tropica website:

I guess if you spot any leaves amongst your HC which are noticeable larger, they could be MC.

Forgot to add...Hemianthus micranthemoides (aka HM) is very commonly mixed in with HC too. So any larger leaves you see might also be HM (i personally encounter that very often), they will eventually grow much taller so you can spot the difference easily.

You can trim those HM and shift them to the back of the tank, they make for very nice and fast growing bright green background stem plants.

Is HC really difficult to plant? If i got enough light, co2 and fert. Shouldn't be so difficult right? The planting process already quite tedious liao lolz.

Hey can anyone teach me how to replant MC? like if i trim it and i want to replant or if i buy it from someone who trimmed his MC, how do i plant the MC without the wool that supposed to hold them as anchor?

Just stuff the trimmed MC into the soil... they will auto grow from there.. you buried it, and it will be anchor down to the soil...

Oops sorry I mean like since they won't be in a bunch, I just have to stuff them one by one? Or do I bundle them together

You may just bundle it into a thick clump and directly insert it deeply into the soil. You may only need to see a few visible green leaf on the soil surface. This will do the job.
