i have a 2ft heavily planted tank. i plan to get malayan shrimps after it has settled down for a few days.
so how many malayan shrimps should i get for a 2ft? would it be too many if i get 100, becuz i heard that one can get 100 for $10.
also, any places to get malayan shrimps in the east? i stay in simei.

100 for a 2ft heavily planted tank is not a problem. But if your tank is new, I suggest you get a few to try out first. Don't forget the usual acclimatising process & the low temp(subjective?). Somehow they will get lesser eventually.
On the other hand, cherry shrimps seems to multiply more & more if they survive

IME, they get lesser eventually due to fatalities, they usually turn pinkish, like cooked shrimps. Reasons I'm not too sure cause it's usually 1-3.
I've seen them eat leftover food, and they're always grazing for algae.

    Ben Chia,

This thread is too old to be valid. Anyway, Elvin/vintageo2 bought his shrimps from Go Nature at Blk 932 Yishun. It's very neat to Aquastar. Lyan is no longer working there now so the number is no longer valid.

I think the street price for malayan shrimps in a pack of 100 is about S$8 to S$12 these days.

    Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?
