apple snail

i bought an apple snail on impluse yesterday.
and i placed it in my tank which is used for growing riccia and java moss.
i thought it would eat up the algae as i have heard that apple snails can be kept in a planted tank.
and guess what!! it started chewing on my riccia and java moss. i'm so pissed i duno what to do with it.

Get 6 more, to make it 7, then, cook in garlic sauce. Note:Add salt after cooking only.[]

i dun think it would be wise to do that.
i personally think we should be responsible for what we are looking after.
anyway, just to update you, the snail practically 'hugged' one of my crypts, and i managed to stop him in time before he swallows the whole thing. []
