Base on the formulation given for lushgro micros....

    Iron 21,253mg/l

5ml of micros would yield = 106.265 mg
Dosed to 80l or 20gallons of tank water = 1.328ppm or mg/l of Fe
    ----------------
I think need to multiply by 0.13 because "Fe EDTA is coverted to 13% Fe"?? Thus that amounts to dosing about 0.1726ppm of Fe per 5ml of micro....

Therefore if dose 2 times a week of 5ml, will work out to be about 0.3453ppm of Fe. Does anyone dose so much Fe a week?

But how much of Cu is considered as too much?

I use the 5ml standard for the other commerical brands that are common most places like TMG/Flourish.

But this is not a precise level or residual certainly youm are trying to achieve.

If you keep the PO4, the NO3 nd the K/CO2/GH is good shape, then starting with 5mls even if there is 1.3ppm of Fe present should be okay, I've had 2ppm of Fe(not 0.2ppm) in my tanks before photo shoots etc.

But if you have everything is good shape and manipulate one nutrient dose at time, in this case the traces, then you can assess the amount you would need for this product.

Use the plants as the indicator. You will need to maintain good conditions for around 3-4 weeks whilesticking with your dosing routine of traces(Say one 3-4 week period at 5mls, one period at 2mls and another at 4mls etc) and see which is best. If there is no difference between 4 and 5 mls 3x a week, then adding more than this will not help improve plant growth any further.

This test works best on high light tanks since they will have the highest uptake rates and would provide enough traces at the max uptake rates. If youadd more or excess traces it will not matter, it's better to have a little excess than too little.

I have used Kent,Sera, TMG, Plantex dry mix traces(2 tablespoons+500mls of DI water), and Flourish for these ranges. Never used Lush grow. Cannot say much about it therefore.

    I use 5mls 3x a week for 75-80 liters of water on a tank with 0.75 w/liter.

Your tanks likely do not need anymore than this.

Basically, you don't need to be so anal about amount of Fe....When all traces are in place, just up the dosage gradually and look for improvement in health and growth of plants but make sure you observe for at least 3 weeks or so.

I am actually thinking of increasing my trace dosing because I managed to changed the colour of the new shoots of my macrandra (both red and green) from pale whitish colour to a bit more greenish colour by increasing my Lushgro micro from 4 drops a day to 8 drops a day.

I am trying to find out how much more I can add (i.e. towards the upper limits) and then work my way downwards instead so that my new green macrandra that I bought yesterday will not suffer the same fate! []

If some of you can dose 5ml of Flourish twice a week = 0.468ppm weekly, maybe I should just increase my dosage immediately to at least 15-20 drops a day (1ml a day) = 0.242ppm weekly. []

Increase the dosage until you see no more positive improvement is the best way to go for traces provided all other stuff like CO2 and macros are met. Macrandra needs lots of NO3, traces, CO2 and light to grow well.
