    Both of us are new to the hobby. Not wanting to sell any limbs (acception - my black thumb), we're going slow and steady and try to at least grow a leave or two in the process.

    1ft cube (lala's)
    2ft (lilu's)

    We're really new so any advice, suggestions and comments are welcomed.

    @Foxtrotperv
    Thanks bro.

    @Barmbi
    Lilu says thank you. She's gonna do her trimming soon. She's planning to have the jungle feel as a background and the front will be for some nana and the winderlov on driftwood.

    @Tian85
    Thanks bro... She likes the dense feel of some of the tanks here.. still a long way to go.

    @Gucci
    We got some 'spare parts' from a relative. Will be doing up another 2footer soon. Planning out the scape and still deciding if we'll do a Co2 injection tank. Plants are growing in a shallow large circumference pail on column ferts at the moment. Probably finalizing the tank in two weeks?

    Firstly, a congratulatory note for a great job on both tanks. Inspiring for us newbies here to follow.

    Perhaps you can start a 'play-by-play' journal here for us to follow your progress. Cheers!

    lilu's tank after trimming. she refuse to remove her airpump afraid that the fishes won't be able to survive even with what I think is good plant growth on a lowtech setup.

    I think you should be able to remove the air pump. With the rain bar near the water surface, there should be enough surface agitation for O2 exchange.

    hi tarzanboy,

    the driftwood sinks without much effort on my part. So no stones or weight needed there. Lilu angled it and push it into the lapis sand. that was it.

    if you're referring to the plants being the branches (because she only has 1 driftwood) they were planted in.

    @pustiefix
    thanks bro.

    Re: Lala and Lilu's planted tanks

    plants growing slowly but steadily in our low tech tanks. Tried planting glosso on both tanks. 1 tank melted... the other is doing ok.... we see runners sprouting... keeping our hopes up that it's the good type of runners rather than runners of death.

    1ft cube:-

    mosses are browning...
    cabomba... growing leggy and sparsely.
    ratola.. doing ok
    crypt... going green on the top side and orange at the bottom
    hygrophyllia derfomis.... leaves growing broader...

    problems facing for 1ft cube.
    light distribution/ light intensity/ mosses turning brown from temp/

    Hi all,

    Anyone has a good recommendation for a silent fan for a 2feet setup?
