What is the temperature and PH in both tanks?
Possibly lower the temp by a couple degrees and add some tea, almond leaf, or peat extract to lower PH. Also changing 80% of the water might induce spawning. Some fish will eat the eggs after the spawn, so make fast to collect them, or put lots of mops to hide the eggs from the adults.

Hmm, I think 8 is a bit too high for them. Try to get it down to 7-7.5 range. What about temperature? Adding a cooling fan might work if the temp is too high. Also conditioning the pair or group separately also helps. Get the female fat with eggs before introducing the male. If either get too aggressive than separate them. I find with Fp. gardneri the female sometimes gets aggressive and the male will stop eating, so then have to separate until they are both eating normally.
